A new custom home is taking shape in Houston’s Southampton neighborhood, and we’re grateful this family has trusted us to build it. What began as conversations about the home they wanted is now becoming real: they can walk through the rooms, see the layout take shape, and imagine the life they’ll make here. We’re excited to share their homebuilding journey as construction continues.
Building Clarity Before Construction
Before construction began, we met with the homeowners to discuss their plans, budget, and priorities. We also participated in design conversations with the architect and designer to work through construction details, material choices, and how the design would be built.
As plans and selections developed, our team prepared detailed line-item pricing so the homeowners could see what was included in their budget. With information and selections provided by their interior designer, Southern Green Builders provided price sheets with quantities and costs for finish materials. This allows the homeowners to review pricing alongside their design choices, while our team handles ordering the materials for construction.
A Conversation That Continues on Site
Once construction begins, our weekly site meetings keep the homeowners involved. We review completed work, discuss upcoming tasks for both the builder and the client, check selection deadlines, and talk through any potential change orders and their effect on the schedule.
At this Southampton home, we also had the pleasure of welcoming the clients designer, Elizabeth Yanev, to the site during framing. Walking the rooms together gave the team an opportunity to review design details in place, discuss solutions, and look at selection samples while the spaces were taking shape.
That kind of collaboration matters in a custom home. Drawings establish the plan, but seeing a space firsthand can bring new clarity to how it will look and feel when finished.
Seeing the Design Take Shape
Designed for everyday life as well as time spent with family and friends, the home will include five bedrooms, four full baths, one powder bath, and an open kitchen and living area. A library and parlor will offer spaces to gather or retreat, while a spacious covered back patio and custom greenhouse will extend life outdoors.
Southern Green Builders is building the home in collaboration with architect Greg Swedberg of 2Scale Architects and Elizabeth Yanev Interiors. As the framing rises, the decisions made long before construction are becoming easier to see.
From the first conversation through completion, our role is to give these homeowners and their design team clear communication, transparent pricing, and the construction guidance needed to bring their vision to life. We look forward to sharing more as their Southampton home takes shape.
