Last night, the Houston Heights Association celebrated another wonderful year with their 44th annual Volunteer Appreciation & Awards Dinner. Held at the Height's Fire Station, the room was brimming with neighborhood friends, businesses, and advocates all passionate about preserving the historic treasure that is the Heights.

Southern Green Builders was honored to be recognized a Community Improvement Award finalist for a residential renovation project nestled in the historic district.

The plan and design for the home were created by the award-winning team at Brickmoon Design. The client's goals for the bungalow renovation was to tastefully expand the home's livable footprint and refresh the exterior. These goals were balanced with efforts to maintain the integrity and aesthetic of the Heights neighborhood.

While our team didn't take home the top honor for the evening (congratulations to Bill Riley of Bicycle Bungalows), the murmur of "wows" from the audience when our home's finished exterior was revealed was award enough.
